Study Team and Locations

Locations

HAPIN Trial centers were located in four countries:

In Guatemala, the research center was based at Universidad del Valle de Guatemala in Guatemala City and led by Dr. John McCracken, Ms. Anaité Díaz Artiga and Dr. Lisa Thompson. The study site was in rural Jalapa, Santa Maria Xalapan.

In India, the research center was based at Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education and Research in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, and was led by Dr. Kalpana Balakrishnan. The 2 study sites were in Nagapattinam and Villupuram.
In Peru, the research center was established by Johns Hopkins University in collaboration with AB PRISMA in Puno and the Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia in Lima, and was led by Dr. William Checkley and Dr. Marilu Chiang. Six study sites were located in the Department of Puno.
In Rwanda, the research center was established by the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine and was led by Dr. Ghislaine Rosa and Mr. Florien Ndagijimana. The study site was in Kayonza.
